This deceivingly simple looking part plays a deceivingly critical role. The part’s thick sections and precisely machined features provide the stable platform and rigidity needed as part of a medical imaging system.

The shape and structure of this medical device support frame clearly indicate its intended use. This is a structural component. The heavy walls and the as-cast bracing combine with the excellent strength of the ZA-12 alloy to provide a very strong and rigid part. Just what the doctor ordered!

This pedal is part of a foot-operated controller. Close collaboration between our design team and our customer took advantage of as-cast features, eliminating wasteful material removal to get to the bulk geometry of the part. We only needed to create a few tapped holes and do some gate milling to get to the finished part.

This analytical equipment pump housing demands strength, machinability, and excellent surface finish from Graphicast’s ZA-12 casting, and it gets all of them with room to spare. These are common needs among our products and a key to our customers’ decisions to utilize our graphite mold ZA-12 casting process.
